What job would you do for free?

What job would I do for free? Well, I have worked in a few places that couldn’t pay me on payday, so that was kind of free. And I don’t want to do that again.

I worked for my parents in their ministry. I didn’t get paid. While it was a beautiful experience and I was able to spend time with the ‘rents (treasured time since they are both gone now), that ministry is gone now, and I couldn’t bring my heart to that again.

I am a parent to 2 kids and grandmother to 1. I do not get paid for these jobs, but yet, I kind of do. My kids are adults now, they are good humans, they are successful in their careers, they own their homes, and most importantly, they have each found a beautiful spouse to share their life. So, that is the best payment I could ever ask for.

I think the job I would do for free would be a photographer. I love taking pictures and playing with the colors in digital editing. I love taking candid pictures of my granddaughter, with her hair a mess and blowing in the breeze, laughing at the world. I love driving or walking through cemeteries and photographing old headstones, whispering their names in payer to honor them.

I could do this for free because it love. ❤️

About Me

My name is Susan and I turned 59 this week. I was not thrilled about this age or the one that would be coming up next. One celebratory post on social media that included a link, inspired me to try 60 new things or experiences before I turn 60 in 2025. Join me on this journey as I view these adventures through a dirty windshield.

Susan is a mom of 2, grandmother of 1 and owned by 1 dog. Currently living in the Denver, Colorado metro area.
