Let me think on this…

What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

Happiness, to me, is things that bring me a smile, or make my heart do a little flip.

1) Conversations with my granddaughter. She is 6 going on 35. I asked her if she wanted dance lessons since was always dancing. Her reply was, “I don’t need lessons, I’m already a great dancer.” That’s a heart flip for sure.

2) Driving too fast with music cranked way too loud. This also every day.

3) Countryside that takes my breath away unexpectedly. I have lived in quite a few places in the US and every single time, there was something that was so beautiful I forgot to breathe. That happens to me here in Colorado every day.

4) Spending time with family. Phone calls and FaceTime calls count too! My family is scattered hither a yon. I get to talk to some once or twice a week, others it’s every day.

5) Currently, it’s creating a recipe book for my granddaughter of all the things we have made together. Someday, she will share those recipes with her grandchildren and tell them stories of our baking and cooking adventures. (At least I hope she will)

About Me

My name is Susan and I turned 59 this week. I was not thrilled about this age or the one that would be coming up next. One celebratory post on social media that included a link, inspired me to try 60 new things or experiences before I turn 60 in 2025. Join me on this journey as I view these adventures through a dirty windshield.

Susan is a mom of 2, grandmother of 1 and owned by 1 dog. Currently living in the Denver, Colorado metro area.
