It’s My Favorite

What is your favorite season of year? Why?

I have always loved 🍁Autumn🍁. Growing up in Missouri, the colors were always so vibrant. And then of course, Halloween was in the fall and trick or treating was a mission and you had a plan and mapped out the town. It was tricky to avoid the big kids, but no one ever stole my bag of candy. And I’m just realizing, we never had an adult with us. Hmm

I love the 🌸Spring🌸 when all the blossoms wake up! It is especially magical on a tree lined street and all the pink, white, peach and lavender blooms appear. Bonus magic if the wind blows just right and you are showered with petals.

I have a love hate relationship with 🌞Summer🌞. The summer activities are always fun. Picnics, ball games, trips to a lake or the ocean. Gap-tooth kiddos eating watermelon. 4th of July parades, fireworks, and being barefoot in the grass. But the things I do not like are mosquitos, sweating like a wh**e in church, or the humidity melting my makeup and flattening my hair. Growing up in Missouri, these were all big things for me. Living over twenty years in Texas, these were all huge things for me. Texas mosquitos are no joke! So far, Colorado summers have been pretty ok.

❄️W I N T E R❄️ is magical season for me. The last of the leaves give up the ghost and very few flowers bloom but over decor take over yards and porches. First it is usually Chanukah, then Christmas, then New Years. The weather can make our surroundings a magical scene from Frozen. I loved all of the winter activities as a kid and when my kiddos were younger. Missouri, Texas, and Colorado have very different kinds of winters. Texas would be crippled if they experienced 1 day of winter that Missouri and Colorado have. And Colorado and Missouri winters are only alike in the facts that both states acknowledge winter and they both see snow. Other than that, they are different.

I know this was about my favorite season year, but I think my favorite season would THIS season of my life.

This is the season I am currently in love with.

I come and go as I please.

I work from home.

My kids are gown. My side kick grandbaby is her a few days a month, but she is always ready for adventure.

I wear yoga pants and big T-Shirts with flip flops most every day.

I wear chandelier earrings with ripped up jeans and tennis shoes.

Yes, this is my favorite season.

About Me

My name is Susan and I turned 59 this week. I was not thrilled about this age or the one that would be coming up next. One celebratory post on social media that included a link, inspired me to try 60 new things or experiences before I turn 60 in 2025. Join me on this journey as I view these adventures through a dirty windshield.

Susan is a mom of 2, grandmother of 1 and owned by 1 dog. Currently living in the Denver, Colorado metro area.
