Bother? Me?

What bothers you and why?

What bothers me?

People who see the lane closure sign and decide to wait until last possible second to merge and then flip you off when you don’t let them ahead of you.

Why?

Because they saw all the same signs that I did and chose not to plan ahead.

What bothers me?

People who chew with their mouth open and/or people who chew loudly.

Why?

Because it’s disgusting! The food on your plate looked amazing and tasty, I do not need proof that you are indeed chewing it 50 times before swallowing.

The loud chewing, it’s just the sound it makes, it goes right thru me and I am, more than likely, not going to finish my meal. I will just quietly sit and smile and join the conversation at the table.

What bothers me?

People who humiliate their children or spouse in public.

Why?

I do not want that insight to your home life. If your child misbehaves in public, quietly correct them and discuss it later. It is not necessary to tell the child how stupid they are and why can’t the ever remember what they were told, why do they always embarrass the parents. Then topped off with “Oh here come the water works, of course. Dry it up now you bawl baby” (Yes I have heard that said to children on more than one occasion).

If it’s the spouse, it’s emotional abuse. Your partner, your spouse, should be on your side against the world. If your partner says or does something that is a social faux pas, whisper in their ear or quietly text them so they do not embarrass themselves further. Do not say “What an idiot, do you not know how to pronounce that? Oh my gosh, well there is the show folks! I can’t believe you are a college graduate and you can’t pronounce that?” Yes, my friends, there are adults in this world who talk this way to the ones they say they love!

As you can tell, I’m very passionate about the last thing and I have stuck my nose where it didn’t belong to check on the teary eye party.

Anyway, there are my “bothersome” to me things. Probably more, but then I could be labeled as a person who’s actions bother to someone else 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️💁‍♀️

About Me

My name is Susan and I turned 59 this week. I was not thrilled about this age or the one that would be coming up next. One celebratory post on social media that included a link, inspired me to try 60 new things or experiences before I turn 60 in 2025. Join me on this journey as I view these adventures through a dirty windshield.

Susan is a mom of 2, grandmother of 1 and owned by 1 dog. Currently living in the Denver, Colorado metro area.
