#47 Lunch With A Sherpa

This weekend it was my youngest’s birthday. She told me that she wanted to go to Sherpa House in Golden, Co. There is a cultural center, a temple, a store, and a great place that sells Nepalese food. As it is also Asian New Year, it was the perfect choice! By the way, it is the year of the snake. It was also the year of the snake when I was born, and I’m turning 60 this year, so it’s supposed to be a very lucky year and birthday.

I love Asian food, but I had never food from Nepal and I was eager to try. The front of the place makes you think it’s a small restaurant, but it is actually huge!

The service was outstanding, they asked about spice level and my daughter said “Give her 00 level of heat” 🙄🤣🫤 And my daughter was correct.

The dishes were served quickly and were simple but mouth watering level of delicious!

I got the chow mein (bottom picture) with lamb. My son in law thought I was getting the American version of chow mein, but it was a far cry from the cans you find in the “International Food” aisle at your local grocery store. The servings were huge and we all had take home boxes. Oh and the naan we ordered (picture 2) was garlic and butter flavored and it quite literally melted in our mouths. The momo (dumplings in picture 1) were very tasty.

After we ate, we walked around and I didn’t take one picture of that! But I did get a few…

I am enjoying my exploring and adventures with my kids and solo. Hopefully I get 13 more done by the end of the month, but if I don’t, I’ve decided to give myself grace and keep on going on these new adventure and trying new things and eating new things and most importantly, sharing the experience with family, friends, and my new blogosphere friends too!

The goal is 60 new things before I turn 60 and I have 13 more to go and I can’t wait!

About Me

My name is Susan and I turned 59 this week. I was not thrilled about this age or the one that would be coming up next. One celebratory post on social media that included a link, inspired me to try 60 new things or experiences before I turn 60 in 2025. Join me on this journey as I view these adventures through a dirty windshield.

Susan is a mom of 2, grandmother of 1 and owned by 1 dog. Currently living in the Denver, Colorado metro area.
