I was on a hunt for something new and I found this great looking place to make something cool and you get to take it home. AR Worshop Boulder in Lafayette, Colorado.
I went to their website and found a candle pouring class with scent mixology. Sounds super fancy huh? I get there and it is adorable! The owner greeted each one of us as we arrived and gave us a heavy duty canvas apron with leather trim and leather pockets. I was in love.
My classmates were nice and helpful and not one of us knew each other but that didn’t stop us from laughing with each other.
The owner, Ana, is super nice. She made sure we all understood what we were to do and stopped a few accidents. I also learned that you need to cleanse your nasal palette when working with multiple scents. To do this, just sniff a few coffee beans and you can smell a new scent without an overlap from the previous one. They should do that at a perfume counter!
While working on the candles, I did not take one picture, but I got one of my finished work.
I paid for the package to make 3 candles and I got to mix the scents. I made a Citrus Sage, a Lavender Vanilla, and a Crème Brûlée.

They smell amazing and when I feel a little overwhelmed with my day, I light one of these and smile, because I accomplished something I always wanted to try but never got a chance … but sometimes you have to stop and just do it!
The goal is 60 new things before I turn 60 and I have 12 more to go and I can’t wait!
