How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?
I could list a lifetime of failures here and what happened after the fact. But all of them were because I didn’t heed wise counsel or I felt a check in my spirit not to go forward and I did and it cost me greatly.
These were in relationships, changing jobs, attending a church service, getting divorced, buying a car, climbing the corporate ladder, and more.
I have learned to take a beat before acting, to listen to the advice of a trusted friend. I have learned to listen to my own instincts or the nudge of the Holy Spirit. I have learned to stop and pray for wise guidance.
And, I have learned that when a persons shows you who they are, believe them. If they show you anger that makes you scared, if their actions makes you cringe or feel uncomfortable, you need to suddenly discover an emergency call you missed and leave on your own. Those warning signs are not to be overlooked or dismissed. Especially if you have a child.
Be safe, you are so smart, you are capable, you can do it.
