Yesterday, I needed time to explore. Friday was NOT the kind of adventure I like. Global tech outages do not make for stress free days.
This adventure took me to Loveland, CO.
I didn’t take my doggy co-pilot this time. What if I wanted to explore a store?
Such a cute downtown area greets you as you drive in. There were tree lined streets, old houses, restored buildings with a modern twist. Beautiful sculptures and a big lake!
I drove up and down streets, drinking in the beautiful architecture and their yards displaying riots of color.
I came across a beautiful lake, right off the main road. It was surrounded by mountains on one side and the thing that caught my eye was a beautiful sculpture that was sooo tall,.
Lake Loveland was created from a kind of swamp like crater that was referred to as Hays Lake was renamed Lake Loveland from the Guy Lombardo hit from 1949 called “There Is A Lovely Lake In Loveland”.

If your town is called Loveland, you lean int o that, right? Well they sure did. All over town there are these blue hearts at various businesses. I didn’t get a picture of the hearts, but the internet usually provides!

These are hearts designed by various local artists and can be found all over. If you would like a map of the Loveland Hearts.
And you really lean into the hearts for Valentines Day and other days associated with LOVE – like falling in love, getting engaged, and tying the knot, or clicking the “lock”.
The heart filled with padlocks over locks Lake Loveland and I assume they toss the keys in the lake. My daughter and son-in-love did the same thing in Paris on their honeymoon.

This was a good day for a beautiful drive and to discover unexpected beauty in multiple places.
The goal is 60 new things before I turn 60 and I have 32 more to go and I can’t wait!
